SBO - PROPHET MUHAMMAD FORBIDDEN FROM ISSUING RELIGIOUS

INSTRUCTION OTHER THAN THE QURAN

[Quran 69:40-46] This is the utterance of an honorable messenger. Not the utterance of a poet; rarely do you believe. Nor the utterance of a soothsayer; rarely do you take heed. A revelation from the Lord of the universe. Had he uttered any other teachings. We would have punished him. We would have stopped the revelations to him.

AM - Muhammad did give religious instruction from other than the Quran. The most obvious one is as follows;

(Quran 33:37) Recall that you said to the one who was blessed by GOD and blessed by you "Keep your wife and reverence GOD" and you hid inside yourself what GOD wished to proclaim. Thus you feared the people when you were supposed to fear only GOD. When Zeid was completely through with his wife we had you marry her in order to establish the precedent that a man may marry the divorced wife of his adopted son. GOD's commands shall be done.

Although the marriage laws were revealed after (Quran 33:37), it is clear that prophet Muhammad was aware of his position. He knew that he could marry Zeid's ex-wife, but he deliberately ignored that because of peer pressure. However, one might argue that it was not instructed to him because it is not written in the Quran?

The answer is simple; the revelations of the Quran are inspirations from God, therefore despite the marriage laws not been described in the Quran when the event in (Quran 33:37) took place. Muhammad was already inspired, which is also revelation from God, like the written words of the Quran. This makes these revelations religious instructions.

One might say (Quran 33:37) is talking about divorce and marriage which is not a religious instruction. This is a incorrect presupposition, because Quran very clearly instructs the believers how to conduct marriage and divorce. Therefore, this makes it very much a religious instruction.

Muhammad ignored his position, which was that as a step father he could marry his step sons divorced wife. Instead he instructed his step son "keep your wife and reverence God" (Quran 33:37) and issued instruction from out of the Quran. There are two more examples in the Quran where Muhammad did not follow God's instructions. These are (Quran 66:3) Muhammad only informed his wife part of the issue and disregarded a part and (Quran 80:1) when Muhammad frowned at a blind man!!!

The consequence of the episode mentioned in (Quran 33:37) and reference to (Quran 69:40-46) in particular the phrase "We would have stopped the revelations to him" would have been that the revelations to Muhammad should have been stopped. But as we know they were not!

This could only mean one thing that SBO's understanding of [Quran 69:40-46] is not quite what it should be. However, at a second glance at these verses reveals much simple explanation. Which is that prophet Muhammad was restricted from behaving like poet or a soothsayer. This fact is further endorsed in the following verses (both in a negative sense);

(26:224) As for the poets they are followed only by the stray.

(69:42) Nor the utterance of a soothsayer; rarely do you take heed.

Conclusion: Believing that prophet Muhammad never gave any religious instructions other than the Quran, gives false security to the followers of Dr Rashad Khalifa. Because they assume the same from Dr Rashad Khalifa, which is that he never gave any religious instruction other than the Quran.

However, it has been shown in the main text that in fact prophet Muhammad did gave religious instructions other than the Quran. This opens up the gates for Dr Rashad Khalifa, to do the same, i.e. give religious instructions from other than the Quran.

In fact there are examples where Dr Rashad Khalifa did just that. This has been personified by Dr Rashad Khalifa in the derivation of Salat and stipulating the amount of Zakat that one has to pay.

Dr Rashad Khalifa, did not fully integrated the coordinates of the Salat as a 19 based code. He also stipulated Zakat to be 2.5%, which is not recorded in the Quran. In fact in a clear and precise way, Quran (17:26-30) stipulates how much Zakat should be paid, which Dr Rashad Khalifa overlooked.

From all this we deduce that God allows mistakes from His, prophets and messengers, which becomes a test for those who want to idolise them.
