A very brief
discussion;
JW – According to Jehovah’s Witness only Jesus was alive
from the start of the creation and he witnessed all the prophets and messengers
who came to this world. They also claim that Torah foretells the arrival of
Jesus before the first coming of Jesus to this world.
IC – So my argument is to let us apply common sense and
view this scenario. Let’s say for instance that Jesus was alive at the creation
and that he was son of God, which could be considered more special that human
being, but less in status to God. So Jesus has some qualities of God, by being
son of God. As a son of God, why did the Torah did not address Jesus like Torah
addresses God, I am God of Moses (Torah). Would you not expect Jesus to behave
like God a little bit and announce his status in Torah!!
As the reader of Torah would agree
that nowhere in the Torah, it says Jesus is son of God. It is prejudiced
opinion of JW to assume that Torah is talking about Jesus the messiah in the
Torah. It looks like JW had already made their minds that Jesus is son of God,
before they could prove it.
JW- According to Jehovah’s Witness since Adam ate from the
accursed tree and since we are family of Adam we are all sinners.
IC – once again applying common sense, we know God is a
Just God, so how come we are punished for what Adam did in the past. Obviously
only our deeds matter to us as individuals. We also know from scriptures that
God is in full control of His creatures, and He is capable of removing Adam’s
sin from us all, so why would He not do that, why would the loving God punish us
for what Adam did!!! We know from the Quran (The Final Testament), that in the
past many years ago we were all alive in Heaven where God gathered us all and we
witnessed God. As we all know that every human being has an innate knowledge
that there is a God, no matter what name they use to describe God.
We Are Born With Instinctive Knowledge about God
[7:172] Recall that your Lord summoned all the descendants
of Adam, and had them bear witness for themselves: "Am I not your Lord?" They
all said, "Yes. We bear witness." Thus, you cannot say on the Day of
Resurrection, "We were not aware of this."
JW- Adam sinned and ate from the accursed tree, so since we
are children of Adam we inherit the Sin, like a hereditary disease, Jesus died
to relieve us from this Sin.
IC – My argument is that Adam committed an act of
disobeying God by physically going to the tree and tasting it he had full
control of the situation. The inherited diseases are not physical act of doing
something, because it is out of our control we are born with it. So the
comparison of physical act by Adam and inheritance of Sin does not go together.
Also Quran is clear that only the individual is guilty of sin if he or
she has committed, that individual is not responsible of anyone else’s sin.
Therefore this understanding by Jehovah’s Witness is not sensible.
